Tamiya Frog

Yet another vintage Tamiya we ran across was "The Frog". I cannot quite remember when these were new but I know it was the early 1980's. I found this car at one of my Hobby Shops. The car was a display vehicle for the store about 15 years ago or more. I had done some repair work on some of the store's T-Maxx vehicles one day and the owner said I could have the Frog, he didn't know what to do with. Well, I jumped at the offer and headed downstairs at the Hobby Shop to locate the car. It had the original box and some Tamiya promotional flyers. Only thing it is lacking is the manual as far as documentation goes. Since the car was new it was a pretty easy restoration, however it was missing one rear tire and wheel! I located some tires that were in the UK and worked a deal on those. At this time the only thing the car is lacking is the proper rear wheels. The tires and wheels on the car (rear) in the picture are from another Tamiya car. Just wanted to get something on it for rear tires and wheels. Also need to carefully remove the black paint from the wheels as they are supposed to be white and possibly restore the body to the correct paint scheme. Pretty interesting little car and was fairly advanced for it's time. Tamiya always seemed to be ahead of the pack back in then.
