Tamiya Falcon |

As of March 2002 I acquired what was my second "real" RC car. This vehicle was released in 1987-1988 I believe and was called "The Falcon". Based on a "tub" style chassis it was pretty high tech for it's time. These cars had 4-wheel independent suspensions, oil filled shocks, and were powered by Tamiya's old reliable 540 motors. I had one of these when I was 12 years old and it was a ton of fun. This particular Falcon was found on E-Bay and was in Germany! I had to have it. It's a very nice piece and I had enough new parts for it I was able to rebuild it with ALL new components. As far as collecting goes, this car isn't all that sought after. Only thing this vehicle is missing is the original manual and of course I don't have mine from the Falcon I had. No plans to install electronics in the car, just another fine example of Tamiya history to sit on the shelf. It's funny, every time I look at this car I still can remember the day my Dad and I spent building it. |
