Tamiya Bruiser

Next on the "want list" of an RC crazed kid (ME) was a Bruiser. Well, when new in 1986 the kits were priced at $399 or there about. Needless to say it would be 14 years before we would own one. I found this truck and it was in need of BIG TIME restoration. The most exciting part of the restoration was carefully stripping 7 (yeeeep, 7) layers of paint off the body. These trucks are simply awesome. They are the most realistic RC's you will ever lay your eyes on in 1/10th scale. They had leaf spring suspension with shocks, 4 wheel drive, and most important......a tranmission. The transmisson allowed you to select (using a 4 channel radio) either 4 low, 4 high, or 2 high.....just like a real 4 wheel drive truck. These had a 750 motor rather than the industry standard 540. The motors look like something out of an electric drill! The motors being so large and the trucks weight it needed a special 6V 4000mah battery pack to give you about 15-20 minutes of run time. We don't run the truck very much as parts are hard to find and when you find them you just might have to mortgage your house to get them.
