STOCK MAXX

This truck is the odd ball one in our group of RC's. Reason being it's stock (imagine that). I had gotten a lead on a nice used T-Maxx in December from my buddy at our Hobby Shop. The previous owner had gotten it and ran about 10-15 tanks through it and got aggravated with it or just lost interest. So, after some inspection we went ahead and bought it. Rather not say what we gave for it but it was well worth it. Wasn't near the price of a new truck and it's just like new anyway. As most of you know, I can't leave well enough alone. The truck needed a few repairs, nothing major. Once it was all cleaned up and fired up for the first time I found out the high speed needle was bent. This is why the previous owner had trouble with it, couldn't keep it tuned. After putting a new needle on it the truck was ready for another trip down the street. WOW, my first T-Maxx never ran like this. I also installed a pullstarter I had laying here just for grins. This thing is a blast, reverse even works! Once we got the engine all tuned up and changed shift points to my liking it was time for a fresh body. It came with a decent Grave Digger body but it just didn't look right. Off to the Hobby Shop I went in search of a new body. What we ended up with was a Silverado 4-door. After a few hours of cutting, trimming and masking the body it was time to decide on a color. I just happen to have a new can of yellow paint and went for that. Also found I had some pearl white here. The pearl white was used first, laying down 4 coats of pearl. The pearl is very light until backed up with a solid color. Hard to see in the pictures but the body came out very nice. The yellow has a pearl hue to it and glitters in the sun. Next on the list was a few minor hop ups. First thing it got was a Dynamite fuel filter then it was time for skids and braces. Braces of course came from our pal Jason at Rix Gear. Last but not least.....every RC ALLOYS vehicle is required to have aluminum wheels. I had a extra set of 08's and some Imex J-Hawgs that you see made their way onto the little yellow truck. In the picture above, wheels are 04's with Plow Boys. Hopefully we can keep the truck this stock and just enjoy it.
