STOCK MAD FORCE

We got our first Mad Force in August of 2002 after a long wait. The truck was ordered through North Central Hobbies thinking it was a backorder item. Wrong......it showed up 4 days later! This truck comes in kit form which we really liked. Assembly was pretty straight forward and after a total of about 8 hours, it was ready to run. Items required are a radio, servos, and a receiver battery. Instructions are easy to follow and have great diagrams to aid in assembling the truck. The Kyosho engine (GSR21) that is included proved to be a great running engine. It was easy to break in and final tune. Once broke in and tuned, it screams for a pretty mild .21. The pipe that comes with the truck has a baffle in it of which I removed to get a little more low end out of it. There are plenty of aftermarket pipes for .21s but with the GSR21 you'll need a round port header adaptor as the stock one screws directly on the engine (like an OS). All in all we are VERY pleased with the design, looks, and performance of our Mad Force as are many others that own these trucks. These trucks spend most of their time on the wheelie bars. However, once you get used to it, the truck is very fast for it's design and nimble as well. The solid axle design takes some getting used to as it is more like that of a real truck. On a track and entering turns, you can throw the truck into the turn and power through it....FUN. The transmission seems to be indestructible so far. It is somewhat like a T-Maxx transmission but exposed. It's fully adjustable as far as shift points and you will hear the truck shift two times before it reaches third gear. Overall we are very happy with this vehicle. We haven't had any of our T-Maxx trucks out since we got the Mad Force if that says anything ;-). Muuuuuch more reliable.
