MODIFIED MAD FORCE |

When this truck arrived, it had been converted to a front engine set up. I instantly tore it all done and rebuilt to stock form. Once that was done it was time to decide on a powerplant. Didn't take long to choose the S7 we had here. Since we had converted the S7 to a pullstart, it was the perfect engine for the truck. I also had an extra RB 086 pipe here and a header that would work. It was a plan. To get the S7 in the Mad Force shouldn't have been a big deal. However, the optional Kyosho engine mounts the truck came with, were not up to par for us. The mounts did their job but did not put the engine far enough forward to gain proper gear alignment. No problem, we made our own mounts to fix this. The mounts we made are just like the Kyosho pieces but place the engine in the correct spot. Next up, figure out how to make the truck a little easier to drive. After many hours of gazing at the truck, I figured it out. The entire engine/transmission plate could be moved forward a total of 1.187. To accomplish this required use of some existing holes and ten others to be drilled in order to complete the move. Since this plate went forward 1.187, everything that was referenced off it or built around it had to move up the same amount. Everything worked out very well. The plate was moved up, weight distribution was now much better. Once that was done both front and rear driveshafts had to be made (custom lengths) and one piece of steering linkage. We used wheels from a Mega Force as they are nicer looking AND they give an additional .250 of positive offset. For tires, we went for another set of Imex Bajas (Imex "Pullers" shown) and foams from a Monster Pirate.
