21 T-MAXX

This truck started it's life as a brand new T-MAXX back in January of 2000. After toasting two TRX engines we opted for a new OS .15 CVX. Well, I must have gotten a bummer engine because I had NO luck with it. After having had my fill of small blocks it was time for a big block .21. We did a .21 conversion on a stock chassis by moving the trans forward and making special engine mounts, driveshafts and a few other goodies. The first .21 engine we put in the truck was a OFNA P4. At the time, it was a good engine to start with as far as .21's go. It is rated at 1.5hp and has plenty of go power for the T. After the P4 had been in the truck for awhile it was time to design a real .21 conversion kit. We built the kit using upper and lower extension plates (upgraded kit shown) we designed and machined. Along with the extensions we developed a custom rear driveshaft (steel). A set of engine mounts placing the engine as close to the chassis as possible lowering the center of gravity was also designed. This is the way our truck is set up now. We are running a OS RG-X engine rated at 1.9hp. We decided to go for an OS since we had such good luck with them in the past. We had a .21 RG that lasted 7 years! Along with the OS engine we run full set of aluminum transmission gears, full steel driveshafts, RB Concepts 086 pipe, K&N air filter, RRP ring and pinions, Rix Gear reverse lock out and a spool in the rear. Also in the package is a RRP dual slipper spur set up. The spur on the RRP kit is a 65th steel and we also added a 23th clutchbell. Add a set of aluminum clutch shoes and 30% Byrons fuel, and you're ready for fly!
